- Curt Klaahsen and his wife Margo still live in Mason City, and in the summer of 2024, he retired from teaching, coaching, and being an athletic director to move into a role mentoring, consulting, and presenting to a variety of groups. . He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Morningside College and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership
- Curt Klaahsen and his wife Margo still live in Mason City, and in the summer of 2024, he retired from teaching, coaching, and being an athletic director to move into a role mentoring, consulting, and presenting to a variety of groups. . He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Morningside College and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Drake University. In 2020, he was named to the IGCA Girls Basketball Hall of Fame. Coach Klaahsen has coached the sports of basketball, baseball, volleyball, football, track and field, and soccer. As a head varsity coach, he has almost 400 wins in basketball, over 200 wins in volleyball, and over 100 wins in baseball. Coach K has been fortunate enough to have eight players head on to Division I programs along with a large number of athletes who played at various levels of college sports. He is now an instructional coach for the Mason City schools and works daily with teachers to grow in the profession. His next book is When Life Meets Coaching Sports which is an introduction to coaching sports, as well as recruiting, mentoring, and training coaches to create great experiences for athletes, coaches, and families.
